Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting routine police, security, and watchman-style foot and mobile patrols of university properties.
  • Performing patrols in various weather conditions.
  • Safeguarding life and property while maintaining public order.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the campus and its users by enforcing all applicable laws and university regulations.
  • Investigating and documenting incidents of suspicious behavior, individuals, and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Providing assistance to security personnel and traffic monitors as needed, along with general information to university staff and visitors.
You Must Exhibit:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Capability to engage with a diverse population
  • Composure in challenging, hazardous, and high-pressure emergency situations, responding to all campus members in a courteous and professional manner
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent semester credits preferred
  • Prior security or police training is advantageous
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive law enforcement background check, including credit history, criminal record, driving history, physical examination, drug and alcohol screening, and psychological evaluation as per the Chief of Police and PLEAC Accreditation Standards.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certification under PA Act 120 at the time of hiring
  • PA Child Protection Clearance (Act 153)
