About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex distribution systems.

Job Description

In this role, you will perform detailed design work, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by senior engineers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings with high accuracy and minimal errors.
  • Performing design services requiring a deep understanding of industry and company standards.
  • Taking a lead role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of engineering calculations.
  • Coordinating equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
  • Acquiring on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A thorough knowledge of practices and procedures in one or more of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, CADD.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Utility design, Electrical design, GIS, and CAD.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience required if no degree.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical capability.
Preferred Qualifications

We also prefer candidates with:

  • An Associate Degree or equivalent in a technical field.
  • Experience in Gahanna location.
  • Experience in distribution engineering, civil, substation design, transmission design, mechanical design, survey, protective relay, and instrumentation controls.
Work Environment

This is an office-based role with the opportunity for flexible hours once trained. You may also have the option to work from home two days a week, subject to the discretion of your supervisor.
