Software Engineer III

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join our team at Walmart. As a Software Engineer III, you will be responsible for low-level design, development, impact analysis, debugging, and production support for consumer-facing applications at Walmart.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business, stakeholder, and technical requirements and assist in analyzing existing solutions to address needs.
- Prepare requirement traceability matrices and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design, and test cases.
- Contribute to the creation of user stories for components, modules, or simple requirements.
- Create and configure minimalistic code for entire components or applications and ensure they meet business, technical, non-functional, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs.
- Assist in selecting appropriate languages, development standards, and tools for software coding and configuration.
- Take initiative to learn fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks useful for future scope of work.
- Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, testing, or other processes.
- Implement telemetry features as required independently and ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components or applications during code development and configuration.
- Map customer requirements into test objectives, identify and create test cases for components or modules, and execute test cases to test code and detect errors and defects.
Requirements
- Experience developing software features to streamline and scale streaming and batch jobs to customer data refresh.
- Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, CI/CD flows, Splunk, Grafana, Git, REST, Hibernate, Spring Apache Camel, Reactive Microservices, Docker.
- Extensive experience in RESTful Microservices and API design, development, and management.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience enhancing or implementing new features using Spark with Scala/Java, Spark, or Kafka streaming.
- Experience implementing Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration.
- Experience working with Big Data tools Hive, Spark SQL, etc.
- Experience integrating with CI/CD with Looper and Concord.
- Experience maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer reviewing code changes.
- Experience documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
