Veterinary Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our Internal Medicine Department at Animal Emergency and Specialty Center - Knoxville. The ideal candidate will have a passion for veterinary medicine, strong technical skills, and a desire to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and procedures related to internal medicine.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas to ensure a clean and organized environment.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, including blood draws, catheter placements, and radiography.
- Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing education and support regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive and efficient workflow within the department.
- Participate in continuing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in veterinary internal medicine.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant, preferably in an internal medicine setting.
- Strong technical skills, including phlebotomy, anesthesia monitoring, and radiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) is preferred, but not required.
