Certified Nurse Anesthetist

The MetroHealth System is committed to delivering exceptional anesthesia care to our patients. Our Anesthesia Care Team model brings together CRNAs with Staff Anesthesiologists, SRNAs, Residents, CAAs, and SAAs to provide comprehensive care.
As a CRNA, you will be responsible for delivering anesthesia care in a variety of settings, including surgical procedures. You will work collaboratively with anesthesiologists to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CRNA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical, cognitive, and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and administer anesthesia under the medical direction of staff anesthesiologists.
- Assemble and prepare necessary supplies and equipment for anesthesia procedures.
- Select and administer anesthetic plans of care, including induction, maintenance, and emergence phases.
- Administer various types of anesthesia, including inhalation, intravenous, spinal, epidural, and peripheral nerve blocks.
- Recognize and respond to alterations in physiologic responses to surgical procedures and anesthesia.
- Transfer patients to postoperative areas and assist with postoperative care.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research initiatives within MHS.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Ohio RN Licensure
- Graduate of a Masters or Doctoral nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COACRNA)
- Current Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
- Current ACLS & BLS Certifications
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time and the ability to lift and transport patients.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure.
