Radiology Operations Coordinator

This position acts as the key resource for the operational management of the Department of Radiology's physician services. Under the guidance of the Director, this role encompasses a wide range of business operations responsibilities, including financial management and human resources activities. Responsibilities include providing assistance with billing, payroll, administrative processes, clinical scheduling across all divisions, budget management, and personnel matters, either through direct involvement, advisory support, or as a liaison with other management personnel as necessary.
The Radiology Operations Coordinator will be tasked with:
- Establishing and upholding guidelines related to the scheduling for Neuro-Radiology, Interventional Radiology, and Pediatric Radiology within the LightningBolt system.
- Creating documentation and standard operating procedures for various physician scheduling tasks.
- Generating the LightningBolt schedules for the Radiology Department across all divisions.
- Preparing both ad hoc and standard reports on scheduling and serving as a liaison between scheduling staff and the Finance Team.
- Monitoring scheduled shifts, time-off requests, and additional requests for physicians, fellows, and residents.
- Reporting on key performance indicators such as FTE, Volume, and RVU to both physician and administrative leadership.
- Carrying out various administrative functions for senior staff and the management team, actively participating in the unit-based leadership team.
- Collaborating with the department administrator and clinical leaders to design, implement, and assess departmental programs and services that align with departmental objectives. Engaging in business planning to identify staffing needs and resource requirements.
- Developing and executing support systems and processes that evaluate clinical and administrative productivity, volume, revenue, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction metrics for both patients and staff. Working with peers and other services to identify best practices and desired outcomes, while analyzing and preparing reports on all measurement and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to effectively manage personnel within the assigned department and to negotiate with peer-level managers on various issues and programs.
- Capability to work independently, employing judgment and inquiry skills to support and enhance overall hospital goals and initiatives.
- Hybrid/remote work arrangement with a requirement of 2-3 days per week on-site.
