Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in supporting physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the unit for cardiac catheterization or other invasive procedures
- Prepare sterile fields and ensure all instrumentation/equipment is presented on the table in the established fashion
- Prepare patients for invasive procedures
- Enter patient, procedure, and equipment into the computer system
- Ensure patients are correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion
- Respond to patient questions and alleviate concerns regarding procedures
- Perform various duties during catheterization procedures
- Monitor patient hemodynamic status during procedures, including electrocardiogram
- Collect pertinent data and calculations for physician interpretation of results
- Balance, calibrate, and record hemodynamic data
- Intervene in cardiopulmonary emergencies
- Assist in handling emergencies
- Interact with the healthcare team
- Associate Degree in Allied Health, Cardiorespiratory Science, or related field
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) and Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
