Job Description

Skillwork is seeking a highly skilled Ammonia PSM Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing boilers and boiler room auxiliary equipment, including pumps, steam and water valves, air compressors, and high pressure condensate.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair boilers and boiler room auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Monitor load demands and start or shut down boilers, air compressors, and water pumps as needed to maintain required steam, air, and water output.
  • Monitor chemical feed system for water treatment and make necessary adjustments to ensure correct chemical levels.
  • Manipulate valves to control the flow of water and fuel and to increase or decrease steam, water, and air as required.
  • Adjust equipment controls to correct malfunctions and ensure safe operation.
  • Report abnormal operating conditions or major repair requirements to shift supervisor and assist in implementing remedial action.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as replacing defective meters, packing valves, worn gaskets, and tightening joints.
  • Assist in the annual boiler inspection and prepare boilers for annual inspection.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the organization's core values through active involvement in the quality improvement process.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes, follow all safety rules, and participate in organizational and departmental safety programs.
Requirements:
  • Ammonia PSM Certification - Minimum Requirement
  • Active RETA CARO & CIRO certifications - Preferred Requirement
  • 8+ years experience as a refrigeration technician/operator
  • Valid DL
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient reading schematics
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience
  • Engine & Boiler systems
  • Electricity & motor controls
  • Pneumatics & Hydraulics
  • Mechanical systems
  • Predictive/Predictive maintenance
  • Site utilities
