Job Overview: Adjunct faculty members play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education by planning and instructing courses in their area of expertise. They engage with a diverse student body through various teaching methods, including in-person, remote, and online formats. The teaching load may vary, with adjuncts typically assigned up to 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters and up to 8 credit hours in the summer session, depending on enrollment and institutional needs. It is important to note that the adjunct faculty position does not guarantee ongoing employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction in designated courses.
  • Create and update course syllabi and instructional resources.
  • Maintain accurate records, assign grades, and evaluate student performance.
  • Comply with the policies and regulations of the institution.
  • Stay current in the field of expertise.

Essential Duties:
Faculty members are expected to consistently attend scheduled classes, submit necessary documentation, teach the assigned curriculum using approved materials, and uphold professional ethics as outlined by institutional policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting coursework.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience at the college level or relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized knowledge in Accounting principles, GAAP, and related quantitative fields.
  • Active CPA license and additional accounting certifications are preferred.
  • Proficiency in using educational technologies and learning management systems.
  • Experience in teaching through various modalities, including traditional, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the educational environment.
  • Experience working with students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in higher education teaching.
