Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Therapeutic Apheresis Specialist

At the American Red Cross, we are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a Therapeutic Apheresis Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and performing apheresis procedures in a variety of settings, including critical care, emergency room, and freestanding outpatient centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform apheresis procedures autonomously, ensuring safe and appropriate care of patients.
  • Assess patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis, utilizing the nursing process and laboratory testing results.
  • Coordinate closely with physicians and nurses at various hospitals to arrange therapeutic apheresis treatments and facilitate coordinated care.
  • Evaluate patient medication for compatibility and safety of apheresis procedure and determine when to contact the physician.

Requirements:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and CPR certification.
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Two years' experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience.
