Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer to play a pivotal role in establishing a new manufacturing organization. The focus will be on the Enclosure assembly, which is a critical component of our battery systems. This position involves overseeing the development of assembly processes, equipment, and training protocols.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with design engineers to enhance product manufacturability and lead the transition from concept to operational deployment. This role requires a hands-on approach to create effective solutions and navigate challenges in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, acquisition, and implementation of manufacturing workstations and equipment, from manual setups to fully automated systems.
- Provide valuable Design for Manufacturability (DFM) insights to engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and document comprehensive processes that prioritize safety, efficiency, and quality.
- Address and resolve urgent manufacturing equipment and process issues during the initial deployment phase.
- Conduct training sessions for operational staff on new equipment and processes, ensuring their needs are met.
- Collaborate with various internal and external teams to achieve overall manufacturing excellence.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment or manufacturing engineering, preferably in an electro-mechanical assembly setting.
- Proven experience in establishing manual assembly processes and integrating automated manufacturing solutions.
- Skilled in creating Standard Operating Procedures and other essential manufacturing documentation.
- Experience working alongside design engineers and providing DFM feedback.
- Willingness to engage in hands-on building and testing of workstations and equipment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse professionals and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; advanced degrees are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with sheet metal assemblies, automated assembly processes, and programming automation equipment is a plus.
