Caretaker Assistant

Thies & Talle Management, Inc. is seeking a part-time Caretaker to work at our apartment community in Anoka, MN. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning building common areas, performing light yard maintenance, and cleaning apartment turnovers. This role requires reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.

1. Clean all common areas and leasing office.
2. Clean vacant units and prepare them for new occupancy.
3. Pick up trash on property and maintain a clean and safe exterior environment.
4. Perform snow and ice removal, including snowblowing, shoveling, and applying salt.
5. Keep parking areas clean and well-maintained.
6. Notify supervisor of any resident or safety issues.
7. Interact positively with residents to maintain good communication and resident relations.

1. Accurately complete paperwork, such as service requests and timesheets.
2. Communicate with management on changes, maintenance needs, and tenant issues.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have some experience in housekeeping, caretaking, or janitorial work. They must also be able to understand written and verbal directions, read and follow safety information for cleaning supplies, and make timely and appropriate decisions.

The Caretaker will work in indoor and outdoor environments, including inclement weather. They must be able to work in cramped positions for extended periods, use ladders, and work with commercial cleaning products and supplies.

The Caretaker will regularly stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and talk or hear. They must also regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently push/pull heavy items.
