Thies & Talle Management, Inc. is seeking a part-time Caretaker to work at our apartment community in Anoka, MN. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of common areas, performing light yard maintenance, and assisting with apartment turnovers.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and maintain common areas, including the leasing office, hallways, and amenities.
- Prepare vacant units for new occupancy by cleaning and sanitizing all areas, including appliances, cabinets, and fixtures.
- Remove trash and maintain a clean and safe exterior environment.
- Perform snow and ice removal duties, including snowblowing, shoveling, and applying salt to prevent slipping.
- Keep parking areas clean and well-maintained.
- Notify management of any resident or safety issues.
- Interact positively with residents to maintain good communication and resident relations.
- Accurately complete paperwork, including service requests and timesheets.
- Communicate with management on changes, maintenance needs, and tenant issues.
- Some experience in housekeeping, caretaking, or janitorial work is preferred.
- Ability to understand written and verbal directions.
- Ability to read and follow instructions on safety information for cleaning supplies.
- Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Reasoning ability to assess situations and make timely decisions.
The Caretaker will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents, staff, and management. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Caretaker will be exposed to various cleaning products, equipment, and weather conditions.
Physical Demands- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently push/pull heavy items.
