Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at Renfro Brands. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger functions, cost accounting, variance reporting, and supervising a small team. The position requires strong analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet/exceed company goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the Accounting Support Administrator and Financial Analysts
  • Act as a resource and accounting guide to the AP and AR clerks
  • Compile, review, and analyze various aspects of the financial results
  • Compile or direct the compilation of the monthly financial statement package, leadership team financial package, and monthly business review presentations
  • Provide leadership to ensure a timely month-end close
  • Review and approve journal vouchers as needed
  • Review and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure they have been balanced
  • Maintain general ledger account balances
  • Assist in analyzing financial data for unusual variances for the month
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements
  • Help with the coordination of the year-end financial statement audit
  • Provide needed documentation for auditors to ensure accurate and efficient audit
  • Help prepare year-end financials
  • Help with setting up the budget for the new year
  • Help with the preparation and updating of policies and procedures, as necessary

Education/Experience
  • Required bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance and/or past accounting experience with demonstration of increasing responsibility and accountability
  • The position is highly analytical and team skills are a significant part of the working environment
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
  • Must have strong knowledge of accounts payable practices, fixed asset accounting, general ledger systems, and experience with the preparation of financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows
  • Must have demonstrated attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including calculations of percentages and discounts
  • Must possess strong analytical skills to distinguish discrepancies
  • Self-starter with proven experience in delivering results to an organization
  • Ability to succeed while working in cross-functional groups
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet/exceed company goals
  • Ability to develop strategic objectives and drive tactical plans to achieve objectives

  • Leadership experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects
