Job Summary:

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team in Waco, TX. As a key member of our mechanical systems team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical systems for fixed wing and rotary aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thermal/fluid system analysis and provide test support for ground and flight testing
  • Lead the mechanical systems team, assigning tasks and mentoring less experienced teammates
  • Support proposal efforts with estimation of labor and material costs
  • Present mechanical systems analysis/design during customer design reviews
  • Plan, support, and execute mechanical systems testing
  • Work with product design team to develop effective mechanical systems solutions
  • Plan and support ground and flight tests
  • Collect and reduce flight test data
Requirements:
  • BSME, BSAE, BSCE or equivalent degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate degree and minimum 10 years of prior related experience
  • Strong understanding of thermal/fluid system modeling theory
  • Experience in developing system requirements, technical specifications, and analysis reports
  • Experience in developing aircraft mechanical systems architecture and selecting system components
  • Experience with earned value management systems
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Thermal Desktop software
  • Graduate degree (MSME, MSAE)
  • Experience in project leadership
  • Experience leading bid/proposal development
