Job Summary

The successful candidate will support injection molding machinery and facility maintenance activities, ensuring safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to achieve plant goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize precision measuring devices, such as calipers and micrometers, with accuracy.
  • Work with tolerances to 0.1 mm or smaller.
  • Repair, rebuild, and modify existing tooling with limited supervision.
  • Polish tooling, repair parting lines, and fix shutoffs.
  • Design and manufacture all types of injection mold tooling, including cores, cavities, and strippers, with or without supplied drawings.
  • Develop solutions to problems and suggest improvements to enhance tool robustness and produce higher-quality parts with reduced breakdowns.
  • Produce mold tooling components with limited supervision.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure to machining, preferably injection molds, or current enrollment in machining coursework.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform advanced mathematics.
  • Capacity to read blueprints, work from sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of shop fabrication equipment operation is preferred.
  • Understanding of tooling and machine design.
  • Successful candidate must pass a background check.

Working Conditions

  • Requires good mobility, involving routine walking, standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of hand tools.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring considerable sensory attention.
