Job Summary

Labcorp is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Specimen Accessioner to join their team in Lakewood, CO. As a key member of the Specimen Accessioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely accessioning of cytology and histology specimens, as well as data entry of patient information into the computer system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accessioning of cytology and histology specimens
  • Data entry of patient information for surgical specimen from hospitals and clinics in an accurate and timely manner
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens
  • Verify patient demographic information matches the test requisition form submitted
  • Data entry of patient information into the computer system for tracking purposes
  • Meet key production metrics and quality measures to ensure timely and accurate results
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities when required
  • Handle and dispose of waste
  • Comply with applicable environmental health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience required; 1-2 years preferred
  • Previous medical or production experience is a plus
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to pass a standardized color blind test
