About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Operations Manager to join our team at the National Cherry Blossom Festival. As a key member of our Programming Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of our events and festivals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Production: Develop and execute production and logistical plans, including programmatic elements, food and beverage, sponsorship activations, and event logistics.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendors, supplies, and equipment related to production and logistical matters.
  • Event Operations: Oversee load-in and load-out, manage vendors, equipment, and supplies, and work closely with the Operations Crew to ensure the Production Plan is being implemented accurately.
  • On-Site Logistics & Management: Establish and manage the Operations Center, monitor and resolve any production and logistical issues that may arise.
  • On-Site Support: Lead the load-in, day-of support, and load-out for all events, including weekend Festival events and nighttime events.
Requirements
  • Experience: Past experience in event production for large public events in outdoor settings.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field.
  • Skills: Multiple years of financial and account reporting experience, ability to effectively communicate, detail-oriented and organized with an ability to multi-task, ability to demonstrate calm under pressure and manage a variety of people, capable of doing physical work, comfortable working in both office and outdoor settings.
What We Offer
  • Compensation: $60,000 per year.
  • Time Commitment: 9-month contract role, with estimated hours varying throughout the year.
