During your internship, you will collaborate with seasoned engineers on practical engineering projects within the utility sector. You will engage in a range of assignments that come with clear guidelines and expected outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Transmission Investment Planning:
As an intern, you will support the analysis and organization of data, focusing on asset nameplate details and health metrics. You will gain insights into reviewing as-built documentation and comparing it with digital records, assisting in performance reporting, and analyzing algorithms related to asset health to enhance data quality and reliability.
Your role will also involve:
- Assisting in the creation of need statements and project proposals for future initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and dashboards to facilitate data requests and improve data visualization.
Major Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
- Identify areas for improvement and propose enhanced methodologies.
- Collect, correlate, and analyze specific data using established protocols.
- Conduct detailed engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests, and analyses.
- Engage in routine tasks to familiarize yourself with the engineering practices and methodologies of the company.
- Support operational and maintenance functions through engineering analysis and troubleshooting.
- Assist senior engineers with larger projects as required.
- Contribute to the development of engineering goals, objectives, budgets, and procedures.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner, adhering to environmental regulations.
- Regularly review assignments to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
To be considered for this internship, you should be:
- Available for part-time work during the semester.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.50.
Work Environment
This position will involve a combination of office and fieldwork, primarily requiring sitting, with occasional walking and standing.
