Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Language Therapist to join our team at One Brooklyn Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the growth of our organization.

About the Role

This full-time Speech Language Pathologist position will be responsible for providing quality patient care, directing and supervising speech therapy, and ensuring compliance with organizational and Federal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for patients, adhering to established safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans, educating staff on the benefits of therapy and promoting best practices.
  • Create personalized treatment plans, maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments by attending continuing education seminars and maintaining licensure and certification.
  • Supervise rehab aides and students, providing guidance and support to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, ensuring a clean and organized workspace that promotes efficient care delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on patient progress, actively participating in interdisciplinary meetings to drive positive outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Possess a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Hold a minimum of one year of experience in speech pathology, preferably with a focus on pediatric populations.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
Requirements and Skills
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Show proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting documents, as well as communicating complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Stay knowledgeable about industry codes and regulations, demonstrating a clear understanding of their implications.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Hold licensure as required by New York State guidelines.
  • Be certified through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, reach, and walk for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • In rare instances, may need to lift up to 100 pounds to assist with patient transfers.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
