Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Penn Psychiatry Time Efficient, Accessible, Multidisciplinary (TEAM) Clinic. This innovative clinical care model is designed to increase patient access to treatment using an evidence-based and collaborative approach to mental health treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients according to established protocols and evidence-based practice standards.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
  • Identify yourself properly to patients and families, clarifying your role as a nurse practitioner if necessary.
  • Function within your scope and refer to the collaborating physician when outside of scope, or directed by the collaborating physician or when requested by the patient and/or family.
  • Participate in performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
  • Demonstrate awareness of professional responsibility as a role model to peers and members of the healthcare team.
  • Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status.
  • Address patient and family concerns, creating a therapeutic relationship to provide support.
  • Provide patient education, counseling, and instruction regarding patient diagnosis, medical treatments, medications, and preventative care.
  • Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
  • Precept NP students and other healthcare learners.
  • Identify patient/family needs for community resources and refer appropriately.
Credentials:
  • BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (for providers in the ambulatory setting), required.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner PA (required).
  • PA and/or NJ CRNP licensure (CRNP) required.
  • Prescriptive Authority (required).
  • PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • Master of Arts or Science (required).
Education Specialization:
  • Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing.
