Job Summary

ASM Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at the MVP Arena in Albany, NY. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patrons, employees, and facility assets during events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Exercise restraint and patience when dealing with difficult patrons.
  • Search patrons and their belongings using metal detectors, hand wands, and conducting bag checks.
  • Assist with scanning tickets and ensuring patrons have the correct credentials.
  • Crowd management and assist with movement through the facility to ensure a smooth and orderly experience.
  • Be alert and proactive in handling any disturbances or problems that arise.
  • Post or patrol areas inside and outside the facility, including the parking garage and walkways.
  • Direct patrons to their seats, restrooms, and other locations as needed.
  • Ensure patrons are in the correct locations with corresponding tickets.
  • Listen and respond to patron inquiries and provide assistance when needed.
  • Communicate any issues to the Security Supervisor, including patron accidents or disruptions.
  • Be alert and oversee assigned areas for spills or situations requiring staff attention.
  • Follow emergency protocols and maintain the rules and regulations of the building.
Requirements
  • NYS Licensed Security Guard
  • At least 18 years old
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of six (6) months prior security experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Personable and proactive in providing assistance to patrons and staff
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to see and read small-sized text on tickets
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
