Automation Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will perform a variety of tasks under close supervision, following detailed work instructions that require limited judgment and decision-making. Your primary responsibilities will include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, feeder maintenance, repair, and data tracking, as well as training employees in the operation and maintenance of machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct feeder maintenance, repair, and data tracking to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Train employees in the operation and maintenance of machinery to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
• May train and coordinate activities of Maintenance Assistants (MA) to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
• Provide assistance in troubleshooting non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings.
• Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
• May be required to work overtime to meet production demands.
• Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy to ensure a safe and secure work environment.

Job Qualifications

• Able to acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Use of basic and special-purpose hand tools and leveling instruments, knowledge of torque specifications, basic mathematics, understanding of electronic color codes and other component value markings, understanding of safety practices requirements, and personal computer operation in a Windows environment (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and e-mail).
• Use of specialized maintenance tracking programs.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent discipline preferred.
• Zero to two (2) years work-related experience required, preferably in electro-mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
