Job Description

Position Purpose:

As a Customer Service/Sales associate at Home Depot, you will provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. You will learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project.

You will be responsible for greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department, as well as handling basics in adjacent departments. You will maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe.

You will work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments. You may work in various store departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.

The Customer Service/Sales position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide fast, friendly service to customers
  • Learn about products and provide information to customers
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas
  • Work in cooperation with Department Supervisor and other associates
