Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

At Inova, we're seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will administer sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies/procedures. You will complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. You will demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. You will maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.

You will provide clinical services according to Nuclear Medicine practice standards while acting as a resource to Nuclear Medicine students and other technologists.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates acquisition and exercise of new skills. Displays progress in level of functionality. Communicates effectively with mentor(s) and over time, demonstrates greater independence and decision-making ability.
2. Able to perform at expected level of supervisor(s) expectations.
3. Adheres to department policies and protocols by ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
4. Demonstrates the ability and skills to assist with adhering to radiography principles.
5. Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.

Requirements for Consideration:
1. Graduate of an accredited Associate's school/program of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
2. ARRT-N or CNMT obtained within one year of hire date.
3. NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within one year of hire date.
4. Registered State Inspector - Virginia within 3 months
5. Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Student.
6. Basic Life Support upon start
