Salary InformationThe salary for this role is $17.50 - $24.63 per hour, with payment determined by experience and internal equity.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Pharmaceutical Support Specialist to join our Home Infusion Pharm team. In this role, you will provide essential support to pharmacists by compounding and dispensing medications under supervision. Your responsibilities will include managing medication deliveries, inventory control, and assisting with regulatory compliance, ensuring accurate documentation and quality control. You will also contribute to employee training and participate in process improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities- Compound and/or prepare medications (sterile products, oral, topical, controlled substances, etc.) including high-risk medication processes as defined by the entity, as authorized by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Deliver exchanged medications to the respective patient area and return unused medications to the pharmacy.
- Document pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc., using automated and paper systems, ensuring accuracy of data.
- Respond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy services such as medication delivery, drug information, etc.
- Operate and support automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients, according to pharmacist and physician orders.
- Order, receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.
- Assist with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.
- Contribute to process improvement projects.
- Complete regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP797 and other regulatory documentation as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
