About the Role

The Radiation Safety Specialist will support the Director of Health Physics in implementing policies and procedures that comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. This includes performing radiological assessments, developing radiation safety policies, and providing training to operations, quality, engineering, facilities, and supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform radiological assessments in use areas
- Develop, administer, and implement radiation safety policies, programs, and procedures at the manufacturing site
- Conduct health physics evaluations, audits, and initiatives
- Provide training, as required
- Process various radiological, chemical, and biological waste streams
- Assist with incident investigations and identify root cause and corrective actions

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a relevant scientific field
- 4+ years' direct experience in Health Physics, preferably with alpha/beta materials and/or radiopharmaceutical manufacturing
- Certification by a recognized radiological protection organization (CHP, NRRPT) highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of radiological protection and associated government regulations (Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or Agreement State)
- Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information
