The Role:

As a CPU Performance Modeling Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the development of AMD's future and cutting-edge Core designs. You'll participate in performance modeling, analysis, and microarchitecture development, working closely with cross-site teams to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cycle-accurate core microarchitecture performance simulators
  • Analyze workloads and traces to inform microarchitecture development
  • Correlate RTL and performance models to ensure accuracy
  • Perform post-silicon performance analysis to optimize designs
Requirements:
  • Strong computer architecture background through coursework and/or work experience
  • Proficiency in C++ programming and scripting languages
  • Familiarity with memory controllers and system components
  • Knowledge of computing software, including operating systems, compilers, and applications
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with pre-silicon performance analysis
  • Familiarity with details of computing software
Academic Credentials:

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
