Biology Research Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral research fellow to join our team at LRES in the Department of Biology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on the response of oligodendrocytes to various stress conditions, including ER stress and inflammation.
  • Support research in the laboratory, focusing on cytoprotective pathways in oligodendrocytes against inflammation and multiple sclerosis.
  • Collaborate with our team to investigate cytoprotective response pathways in oligodendrocytes in vitro and in mouse models of demyelination.
  • Contribute to various aspects of the project, including data collection and analysis, manuscript writing, presentations, and mentoring students.
  • Teach one or two courses in the Department of Biology.

Experimental Techniques:

  • Behavioral assessment of mouse models
  • Brain and spinal cord dissection
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Immunoblotting
  • EM processing
  • Confocal and TEM imaging
  • Other biochemical and molecular approaches

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in neurobiology or a related field
  • Background in working with mice
