Position Overview:
Oak View Group is seeking to recruit a Culinary Events Support Specialist. The Culinary Events Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the preparation and finalization of both hot and cold dishes, adhering to event-specific recipes and quality standards.
This role offers an hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $24.
Part-time benefits include: a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, part-time, seasonal, and internship staff will accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours per year.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate experience across various kitchen stations.
- Ensure food portions and presentation align with event standards.
- Exhibit excellent knife skills and proficiency in all cooking techniques.
- Assist the Culinary Management team with food preparation tasks as assigned.
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of food preparation for standard menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area, including floors and passageways.
- Perform cleaning duties for kitchen equipment as directed by the Culinary Management team.
- Help keep all food storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers, clean and organized.
- Assist with the unloading of deliveries.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a professional work ethic.
- Possess 2+ years of relevant experience in off-premise catering or cooking.
- Prepare and execute essential components of dishes while ensuring quality and precision.
- Exhibit effective communication skills and the ability to follow directions from supervisors.
- Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Show excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Work independently and proactively address challenges.
- Support fellow kitchen staff by being a collaborative team member.
- Meet physical demands, including prolonged periods of standing and walking; capable of lifting and carrying over 30 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds.
- A culinary degree is preferred but not mandatory.
