Position Overview:

Oak View Group is seeking to recruit a Culinary Events Support Specialist. The Culinary Events Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the preparation and finalization of both hot and cold dishes, adhering to event-specific recipes and quality standards.

This role offers an hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $24.

Part-time benefits include: a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, part-time, seasonal, and internship staff will accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate experience across various kitchen stations.
  • Ensure food portions and presentation align with event standards.
  • Exhibit excellent knife skills and proficiency in all cooking techniques.
  • Assist the Culinary Management team with food preparation tasks as assigned.
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of food preparation for standard menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area, including floors and passageways.
  • Perform cleaning duties for kitchen equipment as directed by the Culinary Management team.
  • Help keep all food storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers, clean and organized.
  • Assist with the unloading of deliveries.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a professional work ethic.
  • Possess 2+ years of relevant experience in off-premise catering or cooking.
  • Prepare and execute essential components of dishes while ensuring quality and precision.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills and the ability to follow directions from supervisors.
  • Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Show excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Work independently and proactively address challenges.
  • Support fellow kitchen staff by being a collaborative team member.
  • Meet physical demands, including prolonged periods of standing and walking; capable of lifting and carrying over 30 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds.
  • A culinary degree is preferred but not mandatory.
