Job Description:

Evaluate patients within 24 hours or one business day of physician referral. If unable to complete evaluation in 24 hours, clearly document the cause for delay in the medical record. Develop an effective treatment plan and obtain approval from the referring physician. Treat patients according to the physician's treatment plan. Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants in direct patient care and related activities, adhering to state practice act requirements. Communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences as needed. Engage in in-service training programs for staff members in the facility. Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, recertification documentation, and adhere to Speech-Language Pathologists' Board State Practice Act and governmental third-party payer requirements. Update treatment changes according to policy and procedures. Educate patient families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training prior to therapy service discharge. Collaborate in discharge planning. Serve as a clinical preceptor for affiliating CFY/RFP Speech-Language Pathologist and student programs. Comply with the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Bureau State Practice Act and facility policies.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Therapy, preferred graduates of Master's or Doctoral Program in Speech-Language Therapy.
  • Skills: Proficient in computer skills such as data input into Casamba and Point Click Care.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state, meet continuing education requirements, and maintain a license in good standing at all times.
