Flexible Hours Bookkeeping Specialist

Orchard Ridge Assisted Living is currently looking for a part-time Financial Clerk. This role offers flexible hours and involves performing essential bookkeeping tasks utilizing accounting software. Familiarity with Yardi is advantageous but not mandatory. Proficiency in basic computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, is essential.
As a Financial Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the organization's financial records and ensuring the accuracy of transactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong numerical aptitude and advanced computer skills
- Experience with accounting software
- Knowledge of HUD accounting practices is a plus; training will be provided if needed
- Familiarity with Medicaid and Workers Compensation
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Networking skills are a plus
- Must successfully pass criminal and drug background checks as per corporate policies
- Must demonstrate respect and compassion when working with older adults
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with Orchard Ridge's policies and procedures.
- Execute general bookkeeping tasks: including journal entries, resident billing, intercompany transfers, and assisting with annual audits.
- Handle all payroll-related functions, including insurance and garnishments, accurately and promptly according to applicable regulations.
- Produce timely and precise financial statements and reports that meet user needs and adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Record rent payments, Medicaid, and Workers Compensation transactions.
- Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure billing accuracy.
Training Requirements:
- Participate in all mandatory in-service training sessions.
Work Environment:
- Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Extended periods of sitting with occasional standing and walking.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
- Occasional twisting and kneeling.
Compensation:
The hourly wage ranges from $21 to $25, depending on experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and a 401k plan.
