Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive IT architecture that adheres to established standards of open computing, aligning with federal guidelines and regulations.
- Organize and manage the branch's functions, delegating responsibilities to subordinate workgroup leaders, ensuring that each position is filled with qualified personnel who receive appropriate training.
- Deliver effective computational services, overseeing the management, implementation, and provision of enterprise IT services, infrastructure, networks, software, systems, specialized scientific applications, and databases.

Standards and Methodologies
- Establish design standards and application development methodologies to ensure consistency and quality across all IT initiatives.
- Support and coordinate IT governance councils or committees to identify emerging directions and requirements for the IT program.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- Proven IT-related experience, either through paid or unpaid roles in the public or private sector, or through intensive training that demonstrates the following competencies:

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates thoroughness and conscientiousness in work.
  • Customer Service: Engages with clients to assess needs and provide quality service.
  • Oral Communication: Effectively conveys information and listens to feedback.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies issues and evaluates information to make sound recommendations.

- A minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, focusing on IT program management, policy development, and staff supervision.

Additional Information
A supervisory trial or probationary period may be required upon selection. Selected candidates will need to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report to assess potential conflicts of interest. This position is classified as 'emergency essential,' requiring availability for duty under various circumstances.
