Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Attorney 4 to join our team at the Ohio Department of Education. As an Assistant Legal Counsel, you will provide legal counsel and advice to the Superintendent of Public Instruction on policy development and implementation related to education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of administrative rules and regulations.
  • Manage and respond to public records requests submitted to the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Participate in Chapter 119 hearing processes, including land transfer cases, permanent exclusion cases, and payment in lieu of cases.
  • Provide legal assistance and guidance to assigned centers and offices.
Requirements
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar pursuant to Section of Revised Code.
  • 12 months of experience as a licensed attorney.
  • 6 months of experience in employee training and development.
