Job Overview

Position: This role collaborates with the Cloud and Infrastructure teams to deliver guidance, documentation, analysis, process development, and resolution of escalated issues. You may serve as a bridge between diverse business and technology teams, responsible for translating intricate business requirements into actionable technical design recommendations, conducting system/data analysis, configuring system designs, and leading or participating in testing and deployment activities. This position utilizes technical expertise to comprehend process and system requirements, supporting and driving new functionalities and enhancements within existing systems while assisting the business in scoping, implementing new systems, and developing integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, manage, monitor, and improve foundational Enterprise systems, including technologies such as Azure/Entra, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file & print services, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Server, and patch management.
  • Serve as an authority in your area of expertise, combining advanced proficiency with clear communication and collaboration to transform broad requirements into actionable work items.
  • Utilize automation scripts with languages such as PowerShell.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues while identifying recurring problems or processes that can be automated.
  • Create, maintain, and update knowledge base documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify and seize opportunities to train and mentor various members of the Information Technology team.
  • Deliver progress reports on project deliverables, tasks, and milestones, as well as provide project documentation such as Built-As, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.
  • Act as the primary contact for system outages and escalations.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical staff, and project teams to identify, analyze, design, test, and implement new systems or enhancements to existing systems and associated procedures.
  • Work with Network Infrastructure, Help Desk, Information Security, and other Enterprise Systems team members to document and implement processes and procedures for software and hardware asset management.
  • Conduct occasional audits of enterprise systems, such as file share permissions and access to sensitive systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of solutions available for systems engineering, inventory, monitoring, updates, and ongoing maintenance of the organization's IT systems.
  • Review system and software releases for new functionalities and test to optimize existing systems, processes, and integrations.
  • Promote team success over individual achievements.
  • Initiate unique projects to research new technologies, solve complex problems, and perform proofs of concept (POCs).
  • Collaborate with leadership to gather return on investment (ROI) data and develop business case justifications for project and purchase approvals.
  • Coordinate with team members to schedule and report on testing and validation efforts as part of a formal release ITIL Change Management process.
  • Represent team recommendations to leadership, influence governance bodies, and coach on communicating technical issues, impacts, and risk mitigation strategies in business terms understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships and influence with vendors, business, and technology leaders.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, understand business area opportunities and challenges, and assess process or system impacts when designing recommended solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.
  • 6 to 7 years of systems administration experience with exposure to:
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies, Active Directory, Windows, cloud and virtualization technologies, and third-party hardware and software vendors; security and compliance concepts such as eDiscovery, DLP, and CASB.

Demonstrated Knowledge

  • Project management and agile methodologies.
  • Designing, implementing, and upgrading Active Directory and related services.
  • Robust M365 Enterprise Mobility environments, including Azure AD, Entra, AADConnect, Exchange Online, Email Gateway/Archiving, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
  • Solid understanding of computing and network concepts, including troubleshooting skills, DNS, IP, subnetting, and DHCP.
  • A passion for technology and a desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Understanding downstream integrations to assess the impact of changes, triage and remedy incidents, and scope new initiatives.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
  • A customer service-focused approach to interactions with business partners and the employee user community.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced, high-performance, and deadline-driven engineering environment.
