Position Overview for the Salesforce Solutions Architect:
The Salesforce Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in our mission by ensuring that students, staff, and faculty have access to optimal software solutions for managing databases and educational systems. This position collaborates directly with our partners to deliver integration solutions, reporting, and interfaces that support the educational community, ensuring the effective operation of essential technologies that facilitate higher learning.
Key Responsibilities of the Salesforce Solutions Architect:
Oversee the Salesforce environment in various capacities, including but not limited to:
System and application-level security – user provisioning, data security, etc.
- Ensure business processes are adequately supported by the application.
- Facilitate patch upgrades and enhancements.
- Align business needs with application execution.
- Manage system-specific configurations, automation, and interfaces.
- Design, architect, build, and deploy solutions to address specific challenges, including advanced software applications, interfaces, vendor deployments, database designs, and logic.
- Review the quality of work from other software engineers and consulting partners, providing mentorship and training.
- Manage ongoing vendor relationships and deliverables.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the IT department's growth as Bryan University expands, actively suggesting ideas for the planning process.
- Provide escalation monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues from other departments within Bryan University.
- Document all coding activities performed on Bryan University systems.
- Design and create advanced reports and queries.
- Continuously enhance programming skills to progress into more advanced developer roles.
- Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot the Salesforce instance, reports, integrations, custom code, and flow logic.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with higher education applications preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with EDA/Education Cloud data model and functionality.
- 5+ years of experience in developing, deploying, and testing Salesforce applications.
- 4+ years of experience writing Apex Code.
- 5+ years of experience developing and deploying Flow Builder logic and user interface customizations.
- 3+ years of experience developing and supporting Mulesoft integrations with Salesforce.
- 5+ years of experience in developing full-stack applications, including user interface, API integration, object management, and data modeling.
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale integrated multi-system environments.
- 2+ years of experience in vendor management.
- Ability to proactively identify system issues, plan corrections, and implement solutions independently.
- Proactively present solutions for large, cross-departmental projects.
- Previous customer service experience demonstrating quality service.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products, including MS 365 Admin, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Advanced Salesforce programming language certifications preferred: Apex, Flow Builder, and Salesforce Administration.
- Intermediate cloud infrastructure certification preferred.
- Flexible hours to accommodate after-hours migrations, backups, and support for nighttime faculty.
- Ability to work in a virtual environment using various software technologies.
- Ability to sit for extended periods (six to eight hours).
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule of at least 40 hours per week.
