We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our team at S&ME, Inc. in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials used in various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze plans and specifications to identify potential construction material issues
- Conduct field observations and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Document and record test results and observations in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaborate with management staff, general contractors, and clients to resolve any construction material-related issues
- Perform special inspections and testing as required by the International Building Code (IBC)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or vocational training in a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in construction testing and inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
- Effective communication and math skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and carry 40-50 pounds, and work in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel for work
