Job Summary

CEMEX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aggregate Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our sand mine. As a key member of our plant management team, you will be responsible for supervising salaried supervisors and hourly employees, managing budgets, mine planning, permitting, and ensuring operational goals and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve Zero4Life Utilization and support the VFL program, SIC, and SBO initiatives.
  • Track and maintain costs in the sand mine operation, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Safety and Environmental Representatives to develop and maintain a safe and environmentally compliant operation.
  • Interface with Corporate Mine Planning staff and local QC staff to develop short-term and long-term mining plans.
  • Direct production to meet production goals, minimizing overtime and scheduling vacations.
  • Maintain equipment with the assistance of maintenance personnel, coordinating and scheduling as needed.
  • Purchase regular materials for the operation, working with Procurement to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain operational compliance with zoning and related permits.
  • Develop an annual budget for the operation, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA and local safety requirements, as well as environmental regulations.
  • Represent CEMEX in the local community, fostering positive relationships and addressing concerns.
  • Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to guide production and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with sales to plan for future inventory requirements.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, MSHA, and OSHA rules and regulations, wearing proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3 years of mine supervision experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) experience required.
  • AutoCAD experience a plus, with a desire and ability to learn more detailed mining software (Surpac Quarry).
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment with some physical labor at times.
  • Self-motivated team player with a focus on mission accomplishment.
Working Conditions
  • Capable of working extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to participate in required overnight travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors.
