Position Overview
The Mechanical Maintenance Lead is tasked with overseeing maintenance personnel and contractors on-site, ensuring optimal plant operations. This role emphasizes the importance of safety, efficiency, and adherence to environmental standards while managing budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold Plant Safety and Environmental policies.
- Delegate tasks and ensure the availability of necessary tools and materials for efficient job completion.
- Conduct on-site supervision to assess the performance of team members.
- Provide technical guidance to both mechanical and electrical teams as needed.
- Assist in the formulation of weekly manpower schedules.
- Coordinate resources to address urgent maintenance issues promptly.
- Manage the mechanical backlog in the CMMS, prioritizing work orders for optimal plant performance.
- Prepare employees for their tasks in advance.
- Collaborate on the development of a three-year maintenance plan, including budget considerations.
- Evaluate spare parts inventory and suggest appropriate stocking levels.
- Work with planners to maintain an organized system for parts storage.
- Stay informed about advancements in mechanical technologies.
- Utilize SAP, Word, Excel, and relevant software effectively.
- Implement mechanical improvements based on corrective actions or departmental requests.
- Oversee the work of external mechanical contractors to ensure compliance with Plant policies.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members.
- Manage break and lunch schedules to ensure operational efficiency.
- Enforce specific plant policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
- Recommend adjustments to job plans as necessary.
- Execute planned work schedules with assigned resources.
- Advocate for the principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
High School diploma or Associate Degree required.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years in cement manufacturing or a related heavy industry, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical background with experience as a skilled tradesperson.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient understanding of measurement units, both metric and standard.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Intermediate computer skills, with prior experience in Microsoft Excel and SAP advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and OEM maintenance documentation.
- Demonstrated capacity for learning through formal training and practical experience.
- Motivated team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Fluent in English (C2 level).
