Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Hoffman & Hoffman. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the equipment sales team's post-order fulfillment duties and services for applied HVAC equipment sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize construction projects by accepting new projects from the equipment sales team, participating in submittal preparation, review, and approvals, collecting and completing all needed project documentation, analyzing construction project timelines, understanding project requirements, collaborating with the equipment sales team and the purchasing contractor on project milestones and timelines.
  • Coordinate with installing contractors by reviewing project information, communicating project timeline information, prioritizing areas of completion, answering questions to assure proper installation, promoting proper installation methods, and verifying completion of project documentation.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers by communicating required features, capacities, performance requirements, and installation best practices with installing contractors.
  • Coordinate the release and order of project equipment by completing proper equipment release and shipping documents, coordinating the delivery of material, scheduling delivery of material with site needs, and communicating with customers as to necessary staging and storage of equipment.
  • Bill construction projects by collaborating with Administration for the proper creation of billing, coordinating with customers for needed billing requirements.
  • Communicate project information by communicating as needed with sales teams, updating and maintaining trackers with critical project information, updating project deadline information, advising as to any changes in schedule or change orders, prices, and directs change orders as needed.
  • Achieve financial objectives by collaborating with sales teams by reviewing monthly job costs reports, initiating corrective actions as directed.
  • Maintain industry technical knowledge by attending approved educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, maintaining knowledge on proper equipment installation methods, and maintaining knowledge of project management issues.
  • Mentor less senior project managers by assisting in the recruiting and training of new employees as needed, sharing technical knowledge, and sharing installation knowledge.
  • Contribute to team success by continuously improving how we deliver projects, leading by example, maintaining an open and positive attitude, preparing for and attending job progress review meetings, and accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Will to travel by cooperating and understanding the importance of high-profile customers with locations in multiple regions and recognizing a sense of urgency with those needs.
