Job Summary

We are seeking an EMT-B or Paramedic to join our team at the Austin Travis County Sobriety Center. As a Medical Specialist, you will provide critical support to clients struggling with substance abuse issues.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your primary objective will be to provide clinical oversight of a patient's medical care and address clients' unique needs and challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform triage to ensure patients meet eligibility criteria.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, EMS, and community partners for admission.
  • Provide clinical oversight of a patient's medical care during intake and throughout their stay.
  • Collaborate with Community Health Paramedics to allow for inductions on MAT and alcohol withdrawal medications.
  • Follow medical protocols as established by the ATCEMS medical director.
  • Assist in de-escalating individuals during intake and throughout their stay.
  • Maintain documentation of charts.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Texas Driver's License.
  • EMT State Certification.
  • Basic Life Support CPR Certified (by American Heart Association).
  • 1 Year EMT experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
