Job Title: Information Technology Quality Assurance Manager

Ohio Farmers Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the organization's IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Property Casualty Insurance, preferably commercial lines (small business), and a strong background in IT quality assurance and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage test automation for large-scale programs utilizing agile methodologies on complex software platforms, primarily Duck Creek-based.
  • Design and implement automation frameworks using existing understanding of core business strategies for small business insurance segments.
  • Define and implement a comprehensive automation strategy that optimizes test coverage and balances manual and automated testing efforts based on feasibility and maintainability.
  • Conduct regular test coverage reviews in partnership with Test Leads and Product Owners to ensure comprehensive testing across all products and complex workflows.
  • Investigate production failures with all disciplines of the program to identify systemic issues and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with the Duck Creek Application Development Lead to establish suitable unit test coverage levels to complement automated regression testing and ensure efficient coordination between unit and regression testing efforts.
  • Collaborate with UAT stakeholders across pricing, underwriting, and product teams to identify critical functionalities for each release and prioritize testing efforts to mitigate potential risks associated with the release.
  • Lead the execution of QA regression confirmation for each release cycle, analyzing release changes and impacted areas to determine the scope of regression testing required.
  • Assess the impact of production defects on the codebase and design regression tests to address them.
  • Partner with Test Leads, Product Owners, and the Small Business Technology Asset Owner to confirm release quality for each release.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest automation testing tools and methodologies.
  • Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards, and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external technology partners, vendors, and service providers, leveraging their expertise and resources to enhance the company's IT capabilities.
  • Own accountability for talent management and navigation of employee-related issues that impact morale and work environment, including hiring, selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Significant experience in Property Casualty Insurance, preferably commercial lines (small business).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or commensurate experience. Master's degree in related field is preferred.
