Advanced Practice Provider

The MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Palliative Care & Rehabilitation Medicine team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical patient care across the continuum, ensuring quality patient outcomes and promoting comfort and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive symptom assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the team physicians.
- Collect and document patient data, utilizing organizational skills to ensure continuity of care across the continuum.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, emphasizing the promotion of comfort and quality of life.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to plan, educate, and coordinate services.
- Utilize communication skills as a liaison for our department and between patients and other members of the healthcare team.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
- Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, if working in the Pediatrics - Patient Care department.
- Authorization for limited prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Eligibility to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
