Position Overview

Matrix Providers is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to become part of our skilled team delivering healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families.

  • Work Schedule: General Hours: Monday - Friday, 7AM to 4PM (subject to slight variations based on specific clinic needs)
    • No evening or weekend shifts.

Minimum Qualifications for CMA:

  • Education: Certificate from an accredited medical assistant training program.
  • Certification: Valid certification as a medical assistant from recognized organizations.
  • Experience: At least one year of full-time experience in the last three years as a CMA in an outpatient setting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination rooms prior to patient visits.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers as required.
  • Measure and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Document patient medical history and current medications accurately.
  • Perform diagnostic tests as instructed.
  • Maintain stock levels and cleanliness of examination rooms.
  • Process lab and imaging requisitions according to clinic protocols.
  • Input patient demographic information during check-in and record discharge details.

Additional Responsibilities for Specialized Clinics:

  • Complete required training in IV placement and immunization administration.
  • Collect and prepare lab specimens and perform basic lab tests.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients on medications and administer as directed.
  • Notify patients about lab results as necessary.
  • Assist in inventory management as directed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Additional Duties for Deployment Health Center:

  • Engage in outreach and education regarding available services.
  • Communicate with relevant personnel to clarify eligibility for services.
  • Facilitate communication between the clinic and field units.
