Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients in our Ambulatory Medical Surgical Specialties and Float Pool. As an Ambulatory Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing support and care to patients, ensuring timely and effective communication and coordination with clinicians and support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing support and care to patients in Ambulatory Medical Surgical Specialties and Float Pool.
- Ensure timely and effective communication and coordination with clinicians and support staff.
- Provide clinical telephone triage and general nursing support for patients.
- Maintain familiarity with department activity and work collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families.
- Participate in departmental and organizational quality management and/or quality improvement projects.
- Proficient use of the electronic medical record and documentation in a clear, complete, and concise manner.
- Work collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 6 months of recent clinical nursing experience in an Ambulatory Clinic/Practice setting and/or Emergency room setting.
- Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience with telephone triage, with telephone triage as the main responsibility.
- Experience with in-person triage and clinical assessment techniques of an adult patient within the last 4 years.
- Ambulatory Neurology experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in an Ambulatory Medical Specialty (not procedural) area or Primary Care with patient care delivery as an RN is strongly preferred.
- Must be comfortable with all aspects of patient care in person and via telephone.
- Case Management experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or desire to obtain certification in Ambulatory Care or an ambulatory Specialty area within 2 years.
- Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract Mass General Brigham Job ID #.
