Position Overview


Under the general supervision of the Director of Accounting, the Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounting team with the monthly closing processes and various accounting-related initiatives as required.

The key responsibilities of this position include ensuring that revenue, expenses, and balance sheet transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP standards and the company's accounting policies.


This role is essential for maintaining a timely month-end closing cycle related to their accounting responsibilities, which includes adherence to and documentation of internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee month-end closing processes to guarantee the accuracy and promptness of financial transactions, including posting journal entries and managing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Handle monthly revenue recognition, which involves preparing and posting revenue-related journal entries, analyzing client and product revenue trends, and generating various revenue reports.
  • Engage in the assessment of monthly COS accruals (Administrative, Network, and Broker Fees).
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team to identify and clarify monthly variances, necessary accruals, and respond to other accounting inquiries.
  • Assist in the annual operating budget and interim forecasting processes, providing analysis and review.
  • Support external audit processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements, including identifying opportunities for automation.
  • Assist with additional accounting tasks and projects as required.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in an accounting role, combining both industry and public accounting experience.
  • Proficient in applying US GAAP with a solid understanding of audit requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including knowledge of functions and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across various departments.
  • Results-oriented self-starter capable of working independently or with minimal supervision, with a proven track record in a team environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Workday Finance is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting.
