**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Heavy-Duty Diesel Equipment Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our diesel equipment fleet.

**Estimated Salary Range:** $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies.
  • Identify and diagnose root causes of mechanical issues and implement repairs as required.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly licensed and registered prior to use.
  • Document all work completed through our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers and other electronic systems.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform routine tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians to improve skills and knowledge.

**Requirements:**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration.
