The City of Concord is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Master Police Officer to join our team. Key Responsibilities- Conduct special investigations, interviews, and interrogations to gather evidence and information.
- Enforce laws and ordinances by writing tickets, making arrests, serving subpoenas, and answering citizen complaints.
- Patrol assigned districts, including streets, neighborhoods, and businesses, and respond to emergency calls.
- Prepare reports, search warrants, documents, and incident files.
- Perform field operations, including surveillance, directing officers, and executing search and arrest warrants.
- Attend preliminary trial meetings and testify in court as needed.
- Perform supervisory duties in the absence of a Sergeant.
- Associate's degree from an accredited college preferred.
- At least three years of experience as a Police Officer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
- Intermediate Law Enforcement Certification.
Positions in this class require standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, handling, pushing/pulling, climbing, vision, foot controls, balancing, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, and talking. Heavy work is required, with exertion of pounds occasionally, pounds frequently, or from 10 up to 20 pounds constantly.
Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory hazards, noise, and vibration, physical hazards.
