Job Summary

Medstar is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our Communications Center team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, guests, physicians, and Medstar associates, ensuring a positive experience for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Respond to calls and inquiries from patients, guests, physicians, and Medstar associates, providing timely and accurate information and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Service Request Processing: Receive and process service requests from patients, guests, physicians, and Medstar associates, and generate and dispatch work orders for completion by vendors.
  • Communication Center Operations: Monitor the emergency alarm system, maintain alarm logs, and update Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), customer service database, and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Training and Development: Assist with the training of new hires and temporary employees on CMMS, customer service database, email, Live chat, and Call Center procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide informal assistance, technical guidance, and training to co-workers, and participate in on-going education, quality assurance tasks, and other projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, and up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training.
  • Experience: 6 to 12 months of experience in a customer service environment, such as telemarketing or telephone operator, where keyboarding is required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to read and write, knowledge of grammar and arithmetic, and ability to use standard office/medical equipment.
