Job Title: Line Haul Driver

At Saia, Inc., we're committed to providing our drivers with the tools and support they need to succeed. As a Line Haul Driver, you'll be responsible for operating tractor trailers over long distances to deliver freight in a safe, claims-free, and cost-efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive tractor trailers to deliver and pickup freight between company terminals, customer facilities, or meeting points.
  • Travel regionally and cross-regionally while pulling single, double, or triple trailers.
  • Follow established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
  • Conduct inspections by following established safety and quality control procedures.
  • Hook, unhook, and assess equipment in compliance with Department of Transportation guidelines.
  • Retain and maintain records, logs, forms, and load-related paperwork.
Requirements:
  • Class A commercial driver's license.
  • Safe motor vehicle report and applicable endorsements, including hazmat, tankers, doubles, and triples.
  • 1+ years of tractor trailer driving experience.
  • Willingness to work long hauls and overnight hours.
  • Prior experience hooking and unhooking trailers, handling dollies, and making and breaking trailer sets.
